The episodes that are common (even key) in the condition of Pheochromocytomas can come and go. My personal view of this is that when one is episodic, ie.
having surges of adrenaline/hormones, their urine would be more likely to prove positive for Pheo, given this is at the root.
Similarly, if one is not episodic, and does a 24 hr urine collection, their urine may show a false negative?
The reason I ask, my sister has all the markers of Pheochromocytoma. She had a positive 24 hr Urine a couple months ago. A recent secondary 24 hr urine was negative. Her Endo has dropped her like a hot potatoe. So, what now?
